A lot had been promised by the government then — compensation for the families of the victims, increasing police presence in crowded markets and swift action against the culprits. Two years later, we are still waiting.

Police have failed to net the masterminds. They have almost forgotten about CCTVs at marketplaces. Families of the victims are yet to receive the compensation promised. Last week, Kuldeep Singh, the DTC driver who saved nearly 40 lives during the blasts, returned his bravery medal because the government is yet to compensate him.

No breakthrough has been made in tracing the culprits. Abu-al-Qama, a Lashkar-e-Tayyeba commander who allegedly planned the blasts, and three of the four bombers who executed the plan are still at large.
