One person died and 13 people were injured when a three-storey building collapsed in a south Delhi locality, the fire department said.

The death toll may go up, it said.

"A rescue operation is on and around four to five fire tenders have been put into service for clearing the rubble," a department official said.
According to initial reports, one person has died, he said, adding that the figure is likely to rise as the rubble has not been removed completely.
The building, located in Sangam Vihar here, collapsed around 4.50 pm and reasons of its collapse were not known at present, he said.
More details pertaining to the mishap are awaited, the official added.
