One dead, two injured in Nizamuddin road accident
A 25-year-old man was killed and two of his friends were injured after they rammed their car into the central road verge in southeast Delhi’s Nizamuddin area on Wednesday night, police said.
A 25-year-old man was killed and two of his friends were injured after they rammed their car into the central road verge in southeast Delhi’s Nizamuddin area on Wednesday night, police said.
“The victim has been identified as Mohammad Javed, a resident of Pushp Vihar. His friends Danesh, 23, and Charan Singh, 28, are recovering at a hospital after the accident near the Sundar Nagar market around 1am,” police said.
According to police, the accident occurred when the trio was headed to Mathura Road from India Gate.
“The car was being driven at high speed by Danesh. As soon as they turned right near Sundar Nagar market, Danesh lost control and rammed the car into the central verge and then int a tree,” the officer said.
Though police were able to evacuate both Danesh and Charan with the help of gas cutters from the mangled remains of the car, Javed wasn’t so lucky.
“Javed suffered severe injuries and died soon after the accident,” the officer added.
Police said medical examination did not confirm that the trio was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the mishap.
