Orientation day held at Dyal Singh College (E)

Not in a mood to waste time once the university reopens, Dyal Singh College (Evening) organised their orientation programme for the freshers on Monday, two days before the new session kicks off.

The college organised the orientation session early because they want to start of regular classes from the very first day. Deepak Malhotra, principal (evening), said, “We do not want to waste anytime, so we have organised our orientation session early this year. Regular classes will start from July 16. During the session, we will help students get acquainted with the college and the way it works.”

The college has admitted 539 students this year. The college also distributed ID cards and their college magazine to the students on Monday.

Ragging remained a hot topic of discussion at the orientation lecture.

“Parents and students are concerned about ragging in colleges. We assured them that we make special efforts to prevent any sort of ragging. We have constituted special teams consisting of faculty members and senior students who will be on rounds to check ragging. Strict action, according to university guidelines, will be taken against people indulging in ragging,” said Malhotra.

The college has also constructed a new block which has 16 classrooms, four workshops and one auditorium that will be used from this session.
