A printing press employee was booked for defacement as he pasted posters — seeking sponsors and advertising tickets for Punjabi singer-cum-rapper Honey Singh’s impending concert — outside Khalsa College.

“On February 5, one of our men spotted someone atop a makeshift, elevated platform trying to stick posters near the parking gate of Khalsa College around 6:30 pm. He was later identified as Navneet Sharma, a resident of Paschim Vihar,” said a senior police officer.

The poster, the police said, had the rap star’s picture on it and sought to inform the general public about one of his performances to be held at the Ansal Plaza mall in south Delhi’s Khelgaon on February 11.

Two mobile numbers — inviting queries about passes — were also provided along with the organisers’ names and address.

“There was an autorickshaw parked below the makeshift arrangement which had 12 to 20 more such posters. When asked, Sharma claimed he had permission to paste the posters but could not produce any document to validate his claim,” the officer said.

A case was registered and Sharma was arrested but later released on bail.
