Both Patil and Dikshit discussed on Thursday's Cabinet decision to strengthen Delhi Police and security of Connaught Place, sources said.

Today's meeting took place a day after the Chief Minister met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to discuss the matter.

Worried that the Saturday's blasts may affect Congress's poll prospects in the coming Assembly elections, Dikshit had met the PM to express her concern over "the lax security arrangements" in the city.

The Chief Minister, who is strongly advocating the need of a "most stringent" legislation to deal with terror-related cases in contrast to her party's stand, had also met Patil yesterday in this regard.

It was Dikshit, who raised the issue of strengthening the Delhi police with both the prime minister and Patil during the meeting, sources said.
