PC Jha, officer of the Indian Revenue Service, takes over as the new chairman of the Central Board of Excise and Customs.
PC Jha, a 1971-batch officer of the Indian Revenue Service, has taken over as the new chairman of the Central Board of Excise and Customs.
He has previously worked with the department in Raxaul, Muzaffarnagar, Mumbai, Jamshedpur and New Delhi, besides serving as the joint secretary for customs on the board.

An official statement on Thursday also named Vijay Singh, of the 1972 batch of the Indian Revenue Service, as a member of the board. He was the director general of the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics earlier.
