The CBI, however, remained silent on the charges slapped against Krishna: Did he kill Aarushi and the Talwars’ domestic help Hemraj on the night of May 15-16? Or did he help the killer destroy evidence, clean the scene of crime or dispose off the weapon of offence and the mobile phones of the deceased?

Earlier in the morning, the investigating agency questioned a Noida-based businessman in connection with the double murder.

Krishna will be produced in court on Saturday where the agency may seek his custody.

Sources said Krishna has provided vital information about the murders during the narco test. “We now know exactly what happened on the night of the murders and the incidents following it. We have managed to link all the loose ends of the case,” a senior investigating official said.

Krishna’s arrest, sources said, did not mean that Dr. Talwar had been given a clean chit. “He remains a suspect,” the official said. Talwar, too, underwent a psychological assessment test at the Dasna jail.

“Krishna was subjected to a polygraph and a narco-analysis test at the Forensic Science Laboratory, Bangalore on Thursday. He was earlier subjected to two polygraph tests at the CFSL and a psychological assessment test at the AIIMS on June 9. Based on the tests results, we have arrested Krishna today,” said CBI Joint Director Arun Kumar, who is heading the probe.

Krishna’s family, however, said he was being implicated.
