According to police, the incident happened in Dwarka Sector-26 area in southwest Delhi.

The incident was reported from Bharthal village. According to police, villagers noticed a gaping hole in wall of a Syndicate Bank branch on Sunday morning and informed the police.

As it was a Sunday, the police called the bank manager Dheeraj Jain to the spot and made him open the premises.

"We found a computer and some documents gone. But no cash was missing," said a

senior police officer on the condition of anonymity, as he is not authorised to speak to the media.

The police said that the robbers tried to open the lockers but could not do so.

However, they did ransack the bank.

Bank officials are trying to find out if anything is missing from the spot.

"All the files were taken out of the shelves and thrown around," added the officer.

The police said that it appeared that there were more than two persons involved in the crime.

Investigators suspect that some local criminals were involved in the incident.

"We have detained some people and are questioning them," the officer said.

The police claimed that there was no guard employed at the bank nor were there any CCTV cameras, to provide clues to the accused persons’ appearance.
