Robbers throw snakes at woman, snatch her money in Delhi

Robbers rob a 51-year-old woman of her belongings after throwing snakes inside her van at Rajori Garden in West Delhi.

A 51-year-old woman was robbed of her belongings after robbers threw snakes inside her van at Rajouri Garden in West Delhi on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred when the victim was on her way to her home to Maya Enclave from Punjabi Bagh.

The victim, Nishi Dayal, was sitting on the rear of her Maruti Van when two people approached her with a deity’s photograph and asked for alms around 12.30 p.m. on Sunday.

As soon as the victim opened her purse, one of them threw snakes inside and snatched the money and her gold ring and fled from the scene.

The ordeal did not end for the victim. For close to four hours, policemen from three police stations, kept figuring out under whose jurisdiction the place fell where the incident took place. Though the incident occurred around 12.30 pm, the police registered a complaint around 4.30 p.m. on Sunday.

The police said they had received the complaint and were investigating it.
