"Around three in the afternoon, the local police found the bodies in some shrubs on the roadside near the New Usmapur Signature Bridge. Their clothes were found nearby and prima facie it seems they were strangled," said an officer.

Two of nine children born to a small-time contractor, the children were last seen playing outside their house. When they didn't return till evening, their parents lodged a missing complaint at the local police station.

Originally from Uttar Pradesh, the family had moved to northeast Delhi five years ago.

The five-year-old was the only male child. The family of the victims denied having received any ransom call after the children went missing.

"Since both the victims were found without their clothes and no demand for ransom was made, we are probing whether the children were sexually assaulted," the officer said.

Police said the incident seemed to have been executed by someone bearing a grudge against the family and were questioning them about any possible triggers.

Meanwhile, the police have picked up 10 people for questioning in the Dwarka case. The boy's post-mortem report said he was strangled and the police suspect he was killed due to some personal enmity.

Khalid's body, with multiple injury marks, was found in bushes in Sector 13 Dwarka. The killers had disfigured his face with a stone.
