A software engineer was killed after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Civil Lines area of North Delhi on Thursday.
The police said that the victim, identified as Mohammad Shahid Iqbal (30), was returning home when an unknown vehicle hit his motorcycle from behind. The victim had done his engineering from Patna and was running a firm from his house in Wazirpur.
The victim had worked the whole night at a construction site of Bharti Telecommunications in Nehru Place and was returning home on Thursday morning.
The police said that first he dropped his friend and business partner Ikram Ahmed to his house at Khanpur and met with the accident when he reached Civil Lines.
The accident occurred around 7.45 am. The victim was thrown off his motorcycle and was severely hit on his head.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The police said that earlier, he was working for a software firm but had recently opened a software
firm—Logic Infoline. He was operating from his house. A case of death due to rash and negligent driving had been registered against unknown people, police said.
He was not married and was living alone. The police have informed his family members in Patna.
