“We have got the report which has certain vital clues about the case. The report has established the fact that Vishwanathan was shot from outside and the car was in motion at the time of the murder. We are still examining the contents of the report,” said a senior police officer.

The police said they have also got “fingerprints from the car” and would be matching them with those of acquaintances of Vishwanathan. “We are trying to find out whether the car bears the fingerprint of any unknown person,” said the officer.

The police said the murder did not seem to be a case of “intent killing” and the “killers might have shot her in a fit of rage”.

The police were collecting details of regular visitors at the nearby pubs and the discotheques around the scene of crime.

“We are collecting details of regular visitors to pubs and discotheques in the area. Once we have get the data we will corroborate the movement of these people on the day Vishwanathan was murdered. Though it is tedious task but we are sure that we would definitely get something out of these efforts,” said one of the officers.

The police said prima facie it did not seem that Vishwanathan was murdered due to some personal enmity.

Vishwanathan was found murdered in her car in the early hours on September 30 on the Nelson Mandela stretch at Vasant Kunj. Earlier, the police had said it was a case of accident.

A case of murder was registered the next day when a bullet was recovered from Vishwanathan’s head during the postmortem.
