A 37-year-old man who was allegedly shot at outside the Mayur Vihar Phase 1 Metro station on Saturday has told the police that his wife and her paramour might have planned his murder.
The victim identified as Shibu Das, a contractual driver and resident of east Delhi’s Trilokpuri, was allegedly shot at in his back by his wife Anju’s paramour Deepak. He was attacked after a heated argument with Deepak outside the Metro station, police said.
DCP (east) Prabhakar said a case has been registered. “We recorded the victim’s statement after doctors at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment, declared him fit. He has named his wife and her paramour Deepak behind the attack,” he said.
Meanwhile, Deepak is on the run. “Teams have been formed to trace Deepak,” said Prabhakar.
Meanwhile, the footage of CCTV cameras installed at the entry points of the Metro station did not prove to be of much help to the police. According to a railway police officer, only one CCTV camera recorded footage, but it just shows the victim running towards the Metro station premises.
