Delhiites can now dress a little light. According to the Met department, the worst of the winter is over and the light drizzle on Sunday was an indictor of this.
The minimum temperature, they say, may slide down a little in the coming few days due to a western disturbance but the chill is definitely not happening again.
"Though the winter season is still on, we are not expecting the minimum and maximum temperatures to slide drastically anymore. The worst of the winter season is over," said BP Yadav, director, Weather Forecast, India Meteorological Department.
The city saw a chilly start to the New Year with temperatures plunging deeply.
On January 11, the city recorded its coldest day in 42 years when the day temperature dropped to 11 degrees Celsius.
The best thing about this year's winter was that the city recorded its second-lowest fog figures in the last 15 years. Delhi saw only 50 days of dense fog this season. The Sunday drizzle brought down the temperature to 6.5 degrees Celsius, a degree below normal, while the maximum was recorded as 22.4 degrees.
