CBSE 2016: Jharkhand topper Diksha wants to serve nation

Diksha Sharma of Raj Kamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Dhanbad, emerged as the Jharkhand topper in science stream with 98.6% marks. She aspires to first crack IIT and then become an IAS officer.

Diksha scored a flawless 100 out of 100 in physics, chemistry and applied arts, 98% in informatics practices, 95% in mathematics and 92% in English.

“I had worked hard, but didn’t think that I would become the state topper,” she said.

Diksha said her ultimate target was to qualify UPSC to become an IAS officer.

“I want to begin my career as an engineer, so I have to crack IIT entrance. I would like to serve the nation as an IAS officer also,” said Diksha, a resident of Barwadda locality in Dhanbad.

Diksha, whose father, Manoj Prasad Sharma, is a grosser and her mother, Sunita, is a homemaker, completed her primary education from Kids Garden School Jharia before joining Raj Kamal Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Dhanbad after Class 10.
