CHSE +2 Result 2018: Odisha 12th arts and commerce result 2018: Girls outsmart boys, here are the details

The result of the Class 12 arts and commerce streams were announced by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha on Saturday.

More than 68% of the students of Class 12 arts and 74% of those who had written the commerce exam in March this year passed the exam, the results of which were declared on Saturday. Similarly, 52.61% of the students passed the vocational examination.

This year 2,33,978 students had appeared for the annual exam in Arts stream, while 27,447 examinees wrote the exam in Commerce stream conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Examination, Odisha. Besides, 8,226 students appeared for the vocational exam. The results are available on the officials website of the board- www.chseodishanic.in and www.orissaresults.nic.in.

Girls again outshone boys in the exam with 75.39% clearing the Arts exam against 60.885 boys. In commerce stream too, girls were steps ahead with 78.48% clearing the exam against 73.11% boys.

The results of the science stream were earlier declared on May 19 with more than 78% clearing the test.

In Arts only one student managed to get more than 90% though 19,993 students secured first division. In Commerce, 3 students got more than 905 though 4006 students managed to get 1st division.

In Arts, Puri district recorded highest pass percentage with 79.87, while Nabarangpur recorded lowest pass rate of 47.58 in the state. In commerce, Nayagarh records highest pass percentage of 95.59 while Deogarh records lowest pass rate of 40.07. Those who could not clear the exam can sit for an instant exam on July 2.

Publication of the results were delayed as teachers had boycotted evaluation process, said school and mass education minister Badri Narayan Patra.
