The national medical entrance exam, NEET 2021, will be held on September 12 in pen and paper mode. NEET is the single entrance examination for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, BHMS and other undergraduate medical courses in recognized Medical or Dental or AYUSH and other Colleges or Deemed Universities or Institutes (AIIMS & JIPMER) in India.

On the exam day, the candidates will be subjected to extensive and compulsory frisking before entering the Examination Centre with the help of highly sensitive metal detectors, exam conducting body, National Testing Agency (NTA) has said.

The NTA has listed the barred items and candidates have been asked not to carry them to the exam.

Any item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry or Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Pen, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen Drives, Eraser, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen or Scanner, etc. are not allowed to the exam. Also, communication devices like Mobile Phone, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health Band, etc. are not allowed to be carried to the exam hall.

Candidates should not carry their wallet, goggles, handbag, belt, cap, wrist watch, bracelet, camera to the exam.

NTA has also asked candidates not to wear ornaments or metallic items to the exam. Candidates who will wear articles or objects of faith (customary/ cultural/ religious ) should report at the examination centre at least two hours before the last reporting time so that there is enough time for proper frisking without any inconvenience to the candidate while maintaining the sanctity of the examination.

If upon screening, it is discovered that any candidate is actually carrying a suspected device within such item of faith, he/ she may be asked not to take it into the examination hall, the NTA has said.

Food items, water bottles are also barred from carrying to the exam hall.

Along with this, the NTA has said that any applicable order of the Supreme Court or the High Courts will be followed in this regard.
