The move is aimed at ensuring better-qualified candidates apply for the job and greater transparency in the process.

The ads will also appear on the website of the concerned institute and the governor, who is the chancellor of the state’s 15 state universities.

“This new process of selection will not only attract a large pool of candidates, it will also ensure transparency in the recruitment process and universities will be provided vice chancellor in due time,” said Singh.

While applying to the advertisements, applicants must mention general personal information, educational qualification, subject of expertise, details of work at administrative posts and academic publications.

Applicants will also have to mention the number of students who have completed Ph.D and M.Phil degrees under them.

The governor said the recruitment process will be done under stipulated time and female applicants will be encouraged.

“We want that the young generation studies more and more. This process will improve the education quality in state and set new benchmarks,” said Singh.
