Bolly glam at Tanwar wedding
Actor Neha Dhupia danced to Munni Badnaam and Sheila Ki Jawaani at Tanwar’s farmhouse.
Remember the grand Lalit Tanwar-Yogita Jaunapuria wedding we wrote about, three days ago? After the son of Congress leader Kanwar Singh Tanwar tied the knot with daughter of former MLA Sukhbir Singh of Jaunpur on March 1 in what is touted to be the costliest Indian wedding so far, it was time for a fiery filmy-style reception at Tanwar’s farmhouse in the Capital on Thursday. Actor Neha Dhupia sizzled on the stage as she gyrated to hit tracks such as Munni Badnaam and Sheila Ki Jawaani, and guests enjoyed a gala 11-cuisine spread and laser show at the Fatehpur Beri venue.
"Neha was paid Rs 20 lakh for the half-hour performance. The whole event cost Rs 50 lakh," said a source, wishing not to be named. Just two days before her performance, the actor had denied that she was part of the extravagant affair, tipped to be costing a total of Rs 250 crore including all the three ceremonies, the last of which takes place on March 6.
Popular Punjabi pop singer Gurdas Mann also gave a 40-minute performance at the event, which was mainly attended by politicians and members of the Gujjar community. The royal setting added to the spectacle. "The venue was converted into a royal palace on the lines of the Jodhpur Fort. We worked on it for 15 days," said Rupinder Walia of JB Decor, which did up the place.
