'Shilpa Shetty can't do something like this': Hungama 2 producer wonders how much she knew about Raj Kundra's business

Jul 29, 2021 07:39 AM IST

Shilpa Shetty's Hungama 2 producer Ratan Jain has said that based on what he knows of her, she wouldn't get involved in the sort of business that her husband Raj Kundra has been accused of running.

Hungama 2 producer Ratan Jain has offered words of support for actor Shilpa Shetty, whose husband, businessman Raj Kundra, was arrested earlier this month for his alleged involvement in a porn racket. Ratan Jain and Shilpa Shetty have previously worked together in Dhadkan and Hathyar.

In an interview, the producer said that he isn't sure how much knowledge Shilpa had about her husband's dealings, and as far as he can tell, she wouldn't be involved in such operations.

He told a leading daily, "As much as I know Shilpa, she will not do something like that at all. I can’t really say, how much did she really know about her husband's business, but I don't think she was involved in it. Any family person should not do this kind of work and jitna main Shilpa ko jaanta hoon woh aisa kaam nahi karegi (I am sure Shilpa will not get involved in anything like this). But, having said that, one has to leave it to agencies that are investigating the case.”

Raj Kundra was arrested earlier this month in connection with a porn racket and is currently in judicial custody. He is allegedly involved in the production and streaming of pornographic content through an app called HotShots. Shilpa is yet to comment on the case, although she has been questioned twice. A raid took place at their Mumbai home earlier this week, for which Raj was also present.

On Tuesday, he was sent to 14 days of judicial custody.
