‘How can I have a cold war with Deepika?’
Sonam Kapoor refutes rumours of a cold war with Deepika Padukone that prompted her to turn down Rohit Dhawan’s Desi Boys.
After her Saawariya co-star Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor is now being linked with her I Hate Luv Storys director Punit Malhotra. The 25-year-old actress refuses to speak about her personal life and will “neither confirm nor deny anything”.
She however admits that the first time she met Manish Malhotra’s nephew, she wondered why he was a director when he looked like a handsome actor. The actress, who is playing a love-struck romantic in her new film, loves Bollywood romances and likes being wooed. “But I don’t believe in looking for a Mr Perfect.
If somebody is too perfect then there is surely some problem,” she says, adding that like Simran in I Hate Luv Storys she likes to shop, and like Aisha in her soon-to-release home production she also meddles in other people's affairs.
Refuting rumours of a cold war with Deepika Padukone that prompted her to turn down Rohit Dhawan’s Desi Boys, she insists that even though it is a beautiful script she couldn’t take up the film because of date issues.
“I was busy with Mausam and Thank You,” she points out. “Deepika is doing the role that was offered to me earlier. So there’s no question of refusing the film because I didn’t want to work with her? I don’t know Deepika, so how can I have a cold war with her?”
