in Bhopal, he couldn’t refuse.

Reason:

She wanted some time off to attend the ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos. She will represent India dressed in an Indian designer’s creation at the event.

But many do wonder what the actor would say at the forum, which is primarily committed to improving the state of the world by engaging business, political, academic and other leaders to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

However, Padukone is attending the India Inclusive campaign, as India is the focus of the Forum this year. Though she has not prepared a speech as yet, she will talk about, “How India’s rich and diverse culture too has contributed to the stupendous growth of our country’s economy.” She adds, “It’s a huge honour to represent our country and be part of this very significant forum.”

It is learnt that apart from walking the red carpet and attending the gala dinner, the actor will also be interacting with world leaders and representing the country.

As part of the India Inclusive campaign, people from different parts of the country will take the gathering on a fascinating journey across India and its cultural diversity. And for the evening event, Padukone has chosen to dress in a Manish Malhotra creation.

A friend of the actor revealed that she had the choicest of designers to pick from, “But Deepika chose to wear an Indian designer to represent our country and specifically asked Manish for an appropriate outfit,” explained her friend.

Padukone confirmed, “I was very clear in my mind, that since I’m representing our country, I’ll wear something that is not only made by an Indian designer, but also reflects our craftsmanship in its full glory. And I must say that Manish has done a fabulous job in creating such a wonderful outfit.”
