After receiving accolades worldwide and sweeping Oscars, 'Slumdog Millionaire, the feel good film about a Mumbai tea boy, has now caught the fancy of US President Barack Obama.
Obama wants to watch British Director Danny Boyle's 'Slumdog Millionaire', which is made with a modest budget of USD 13 million and has so far grossed around USD 100 million.
The exhilarating rags-to-riches fairy tale set in Mumbai won eight Oscars on Sunday night, including for the best picture and best director, with music composer A R Rahman bagging two Academy Awards for his impressive score in the movie.
"I don't know if he (Obama) has seen 'Slumdog Millionaire.' I know he wants to," White House spokesman, Robert Gibbs, told reporters yesterday.
Gibbs said Obama has watched several movies recently. "I think that a lot of the movies that he has seen recently are movies that might also entertain a seven-and-a-10-year-old girl. Not sure that 'Slumdog Millionaire' would be on that list."
The US President has two daughters, seven-year-old Sasha and 10-year-old Malia.
