Around 60 artists from across the country will participate in this play. To make it look authentic, a replica of the Taj Mahal (weighing eight and a half tonnes) has been built. It is made of the same white stone called Makrana that was used in building the Taj. Special headphones that will enable translation in nine different languages including French, German, Italian, Spanish and Korean, will be provided the audience.

The director of the play, Ashok Jain says, “Persian, Urdu and Hindi were the common languages of that era and our dialogues have them in plenty. The ornate costumes, Mughal-inspired jewellery and intricate interiors used in the play, bring to fore the 16th century traditions.”

The play is a joint presentation of Al-Noor Charitable Society Aligarh, founded by Salma Ansari and Kalakriti Culture and Convention Centre, Agra.

Venue: Kamani Auditorium
