Delhi is one among the 175 cities that will be participating in the festival today. The event, to be held at Hotel Ramada Plaza, will also support a local NGO — Protsahan India Foundation.

The organisers will also screen the India vs Australia World Cup match live by the poolside. Comedian Rajneesh Kapoor will entertain the crowd. “It’s a must-attend event. After all, we get to meet the people with whom we tweet all year round,” says Pankhudi Kurar, a student and keen tweeter, who will be attending the event tonight. “Delhiites need a reason to party and, what better than partying for a cause? So come on Deliites, lets party for someone’s better, (sic)” tweeted Raecha6.

Last year, the festival was held at Cafe Morrison in south Delhi. It was lined up with a rock performance by Five8 and a comedy act. All donations of the event went to Concern Worldwide, an NGO. “I am looking forward to meet as many people as possible. We will cheer for India, bash up the Aussies the Twestival way, and at the same time, leave a smile for the street kids behind,” says Sonal Kapoor, director of Protsahan.

Though the entry is free, the ones attending the Delhi Twestival will have to buy a raffle ticket of R200. “We’ll have a lucky draw at the event, and for that a contribution of Rs 200 is mandatory. The proceeds will go to Protsahan,” says an organiser.
