Shirish apologises to SRK ahead of Joker's release

Filmmaker Shirish Kunder, who had taken a potshot at actor Shah Rukh Khan’s mega-budget film, RA.One, last year, by tweeting: “I just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle,” has now apologised for it. “I’ll always regret one thing that I feel very guilty about. I sincerely apologise for my tweet on Ra.One @iamsrk,” he posted on Twitter on Saturday.
On Kunder’s apology, his wife, filmmaker Farah Khan was quoted as saying, “I’m proud of my husband. It takes a big heart to apologise.”
However, since Kunder’s film Joker is ready for release, some believe the apology is well-timed. “Shirish realises you need goodwill to survive in this industry. That explains this tweet,” says adman Prahlad Kakkar. “He wants to be in good books of SRK. And since Joker is about to release, what better time than this to get media attention,” says trade analyst Atul Mohan.
In January this year, SRK reportedly slapped Kunder at actor Sanjay Dutt’s bash. They later resolved the matter with help from industry friends.
