Sunidhi is all ears
Sunidhi Chauhan, one of the judges on the talent show Indian Idol 5 is taking her role as a judge responsibly.
Singer Sunidhi Chauhan, one of the judges on the talent show Indian Idol 5 seems to be enjoying every bit of it. But at the same time she is taking her role as a judge responsibly saying, “Not just me, all three of us — (Anu Mallik, Salim Merchant, and I) are looking for that one good playback voice.”
Though the show from the last four seasons has been looking for a performer who is a complete package, this year, “We plan to dig out that one singer, who has tremendous control over his/her voice. The contestant can be groomed later on.”
All is real
Talking about the tiffs with Anu Mallik, she clarifies, “Anuji and I have worked together on so many songs together. We didn’t fight. They were minor differences over creative issues.”
So does that mean that Mallik snapping at various moments is all staged? “The tiffs are not scripted. They happen in the spur of the moment,” explains the singer.
With songs like; Maahi Ve, Beedi Jalaile, Dhoom Machale and numerous other songs to her credit, she has only one advice for contestants: “Picking up a singer’s qualities is a good thing but imitating is not. Only if you’re original you can do something in life.”
