Echoing Susan's words at her audition, Homer tells the judging panel: "My name is Homer Simpson, I'm 39 years old and, well, I've never been kissed... My dream is to be a great singer like Susan Boyle."

Boyle who has also been mentioned in adult cartoon series South Park is said to be delighted with the mention.

"Susan does watch The Simpsons and she will be chuffed to bits to get in an episode. It is incredible to see how popular she has become in America. I'd like to see her actually appear on The Simpsons, as it would be great to see yourself as a character on such a huge show," said her brother Gerry.
