Who wrote our constitution?

Tomorrow our country will be celebrating 61 years of our republic, as the day marks the enforcement of our constitution. But does the young generation know that? We decided to ask young Delhi-ites who wrote the Indian constitution, the correct answer being that it was drafted by a committee whose chairperson was Dr BR Ambedkar. Sample some of the answers we got.
“Bhagat Singh drafted the Indian Constitution and India gained freedom on the Republic Day,” says Abhay Tuteja of Dyal Singh College. “Rajendra Prasad wrote our Indian constitution,” says Komal, a class 12th student.
Aranya Phookan, a history student from Lady Sri Ram College was bang on, “BR Ambedkar headed the Drafting Committee
responsible for the formation of Indian Constitution.”
We also asked Delhi-ites if they know what ‘constitution’ means.
Saurabh Kaul, a student of IGNOU said , “Constitution means freedom and freedom means constitution. Or is it a body?”
“For me, constitution is a rule book which was written to be used in regard to individual growth but is misused time and again,” says Maanwi Sharma, a graphic designer.
“I think it’s a great establishment which, if followed in spirit would lead us back to where we belong in the global arena,” says Rahul Bagati, a research analyst. Huh?
