Designer Reynu Taandon says if the season demands that you should be comfortable in your shoes, even if you’re going for a party, you should accept that. The designer was showcasing her collection at the penultimate show of India Couture Week 2018.

Designer Reynu Taandon says that during the monsoon season, comfort is very important regardless of whatever you wear and she doesn’t understand why people have a notion that fashion designers can’t be family oriented. Taandon’s collection at the penultimate show of India Couture Week 2018 was titled ‘Once Upon A Dream’ and had Bollywood actress Yami Gautam as the showstopper.

“When I design my collection, my designing starts with the music. What happens when I am thinking of a young girl, who is modern but she hasn’t forgotten her Indian soul. So during the show when the models are wearing cocktail dresses there is narration with English music explaining what it is all about,” said Taandon, explaining her collection.

And what tips would she give for monsoon fashion?

“If you’re going out during a rainy day, then you should be wearing something trendy, it doesn’t have to be branded. It could be white, black, but you should keep your comfort in mind because it’s raining, you’re outside, if you’re wearing heels you could also end up slipping. If the season demands that you should be comfortable in your shoes, even if you’re going for a party, you should accept that,” advises Taandon.

Taandon then spoke about the fact people tend to have certain set notions about fashion designers. “People feel that fashion designers are not family people. They say we work till late night, then party, so we don’t have time for family. But we keep the balance, through our family and spirituality,” Taandon said.
