Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, US television personality Oprah Winfrey, actor George Clooney and lawyer wife Amal Clooney, footballer David Beckham and designer wife Victoria Beckham, and tennis star Serena Williams were among the first group of wedding guests to arrive and mingled in the crowd as they made their way to their seats inside St. George’s Chapel. Don’t miss these pictures of spectacular headpieces from the royal wedding of newly-minted Duke of Sussex and his soon-to-be duchess:

Priyanka Chopra made an appearance at the royal wedding, looking fabulous, of course, in a modest pastel ensemble. For the elegant, high fashion event that is the royal wedding, the usually impeccably-attired Priyanka, accessorised with a coordinated hat from Philip Treacy. Her choice was tasteful for the occasion, but its sculptural silhouette with sheer layers added a festive sense of drama to her polished look.

Amal Clooney was undeniably regal in a mustard yellow Stella McCartney dress with cap sleeves and a long tie in back that bordered on a train. Granted, it’s difficult for Amal merely to blend in, but her jauntily tilted and perfectly matched wide-brim hat, displaying a dainty veil in front, brought gasps both online and in the crowd that lined the route to the church. Her actor husband, George Clooney, was at her side in neutral grey and a pale yellow stripe tie.

New mom Serena Williams walked slowly inside in soft rose, a high fascinator on her head and a chunky gold necklace around her neck.

Oprah Winfrey wore a tiered Stella McCartneydress and a matching statement hat. The 64-year-old talk show legend looked sensational in the baby pink midi number that she teamed with a glamorous feather plumed hat.

Victoria Beckham, meanwhile, a close friend of the groom, blended quite nicely in dark navy, a peekaboo slit at the front of her dress that fell well below the knee and a matching hat, as she attended with her husband, soccer star David Beckham.

The royals didn’t disappoint, led by Queen Elizabeth II in a lime silk tweed coat and Angela Kelly hat with handmade lace crystals and pearls by Lucy Price.

Kate Middleton, the duchess of Cambridge, wore a primrose yellow wool silk tailored coat by the house of Alexander McQueen and large hat with a flower tucked under the brim on one side. She sat beside the groom’s step-mother, Camilla, duchess of Cornwall, who also went large with a flat, feathery effect for a hat.

Pippa Middleton, the sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, who is thought to be around four months pregnant, wore a pretty Hepburn silk floral dress from The Fold, which features a close-fitting bodice and pleated skirt. She teamed her ensemble with nude suede shoes and a bespoke Jess Collett Milliner hat in blush with hand dyed flowers, straw honeycomb shards and a sinamay bow.
