Sarees in 2019 have a come a long way with them being converted into a fusion garment especially for millennials who are short on time and skills required to drape a saree. Sarees are now worn as a combination with sharara, dhoti, palazzo and even with a jumpsuit. The trend has been made famous by both Indian designers and celebrities. Bollywood’s leading ladies like Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Sara Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, Aishwarya Rai, Shilpa Shetty Kundra have sported the classic saree in interesting styles and we are loving the new patterns and silhouettes. The trend primarily began with designers creating pre-draped sarees which saved time and effort. However, through the years the trend has evolved with people styling sarees with a lot of other ethnic as well as western clothing items.

Bollywood’s leading ladies like Alia Bhatt have chosen to wear a sharara saree for her best friend’s wedding, while Sonam Kapoor has been seen in a number of variations of the basic Indian saree. These semi-sarees are now usually pre-draped or custom-made; however simple sarees can also be draped with leggings or with a dhoti. Alia Bhatt’s blue sharara saree at her friend’s wedding was bright, elegant and refreshing. When you want to experiment with your outfits at a wedding, a sharara saree like Alia’s is the perfect option. You can style your saree with a choker–set and a heavy set of earrings. A toned-down make-up look with the right amount of highlighter is perfect for a day wedding.Katrina Kaif wore a similar outfit for an event, in red. However the Zero actor chose a different hairstyle and accessories to complement her sharara saree.

No one does fusion clothing like Sonam Kapoor. Her recent jumpsuit, palazzo-saree look for her sister’s brand Rheson is the ultimate offbeat look especially if you are into tribal prints or Indian design motifs. The outfits can be worn even at formal events and can be styled with temple jewellery or oxidized silver accessories.

Sonakshi Sinha’s version of a semi saree by designer Anamika Khanna, is a combination of glimmer and glamour. The Dabangg actor wore the greyish coloured saree with golden pants and a heavy kundan choker. The look is easy to opt, for any event by styling it with the right set of accessories.
