Gurgaon: Nepalese servant hangs self after SC lawyer thrashing
The deceased Keshav Gamal broke two flower pots while parking his employer Deepak Malhotra’s car. The neighbour, a Supreme Court lawyer then beat him up. The servant Keshav then hung himself in dismay.
A Nepalese domestic help employed with a businessman allegedly committed suicide after being beaten up by a Supreme Court lawyer over a minor issue in a posh locality in Gurgaon, police said on Monday.
The victim identified as Keshav Gamal, 21, was working for Deepak Malhotra, a Delhi businessman for the past couple of years.
The incident occurred in DLF Phase-1 area on Sunday when at around 3pm, Keshav was parking Malhotra’s car. While reversing it, he allegedly broke two flowers pots owned by Malhotra’s neighbour, a senior counsel of the apex court.
According to Hawa Singh, ACP (PRO) Gurgaon Police, the infuriated counsel then allegedly beat Keshav with a stick and when his employer Malhotra came to rescue, the lawyer also abused him.
A dismayed Keshav then went to his room on the third floor, locked the door from inside and hung himself from the ceiling, Singh said.
The police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the accused under various section of the IPC in DLF Phase-1 police station.
The accused is absconding and a manhunt is on to nab him, Singh added.
