Residents were in for some psychic entertainment on Saturday when a professional mentalist read their minds, delved into their past and made some interesting revelations.
Lior Suchard, 31, from Tel Aviv in Israel, offered participants a supernatural experience at the Kingdom of Dreams in Sector 29.
Performing for the second time in India, Suchard made the audience laugh their guts out by using mind tricks to guess the names of their first love, the number they were thinking of, etc.
“Not many people in the world can do this. I have always used this art to entertain people and encourage them to think positive,” said Suchard, who has never had formal training in the field.
He started reading people’s minds at the age of six.
“I learnt it all by myself, by reading books and observing people. I started performing at family get-togethers and birthday parties. Once I was 18, I began performing on stage,” he recalled. He has toured 50 countries and has a record of conducting 180 shows in his 20-year career.
“Imagine great things. If you can’t, imagine you have a great imagination.” This was his opening line at Saturday’s show.
He asked a woman from the audience to exit the auditorium and write a person’s name about whom she was thinking but was not present there. When she got back, Suchard revealed the name.
“I don’t believe in future telling. People only think about their past. They don’t know what’s going to happen the next minute, so they can’t think about it. I only read what they think.”
“I have three elements that help me do this — mind reading, mind influencing and bullshit. If you think negative, the universe listens to you and acts accordingly,” he said.
