Japanese national’s house burgled, $400, ₹60,000 &100 Egyptian Pound stolen
In his complaint to the police, the Japan national said the currency notes had been stuffed inside a paper bag and left on a table in his apartment at Regency Park 2 in DLF Phase 4
A Japanese national got the shock of his life after he returned home to find his front door broken and currency notes stolen. The incident took place on Wednesday at Regency Park 2 in DLF Phase 4.
Kushuke Suzuki, general manager of a company in Manesar, found US $400, ₹60,000 and 100 Egyptian Pound stolen. He leaves for work at 6am every day and returns home by 7pm. Suzuki lives alone.
He reached his apartment at 6.40 pm and found the door unlocked. However, apart from cash, no other valuables were stolen, the police said. Panic gripped the upscale neighbourhood after word of the incident got out.
In his complaint to the police, the Japanese national said he found the door of his first floor apartment unlocked. He said his apartment was broken into and the currency notes, stuffed in a paper bag and left on the table, were stolen.
“A complaint has been filed and investigation is on. We are trying to collect the CCTV footage to trace the culprits,” Manoj Kumar, assistant sub-inspector, DLF Sector 29 police station, said. However, no arrest has yet been made in connection with the case.

The case was filed under sections 454 (lurking house-trespass) and 380 (theft in dwelling house) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The police said there has been a spike in incidents of break-in and theft in the Sector 29 area and they are going all out to nab the culprits.
On April 18, around US $2,000 and ₹40,000 were stolen from a Congolese student’s residence in Sector 53.
The victim, Haomie Kayenbe, 22, is a second-year engineering student at Apeejay Stya University on Palwal-Sohna Road and lives in Saraswati Kunj. A case was filed at Sushant Lok Police Station.
