Police identify six men involved in MG Road shooting

After six days of investigation, the police have finally identified the gunmen who opened fire on MG Road in a bid to murder alleged gangster Rakesh Kumar.

Commissioner of police Navdeep Singh Virk called a meeting with the police officials involved in the case on Tuesday to discuss the strategy to nab the assailants.

According to the police, they have been able to identify and track the gunmen.

According to police officials, they had a video footage from Beverley Park’s CCTV camera but because of the unclear image it was difficult to zero in on the suspects.

“A special team of police officials, including men from the crime department, cyber crime department and the SHOs of Sector 29 and DLF Phase 1, has been working round the clock on the case. They have been able to identify the assailants and track their location. It is only a matter of time before they are arrested.” said Ved Prakash Godhara, DCP (Crime) Gurgaon.

On the morning of July 15, around four gunmen opened fire on the posh MG Road in an attempt to murder an alleged gangster of Hayatpur, Rakesh Kumar.
