Rapid rail: Delhi to Gurgaon’s Cyber Hub in 15 minutes, to Manesar in 30 minutes

Soon, you could reach Gurgaon’s CyberHub from Delhi in just 15 minutes and Manesar in 30 minutes, as the Delhi-Alwar Regional Rapid Transit System corridor is set to roll on soon.
The corridor will have total 19 stations of which five are in Gurgaon. The stations at Cyber City, Iffco Chowk, and Kherki Daula will be underground, said the officials at a workshop for stakeholders held at Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Saturday.
The workshop was organised by NCR transport corporation (NCRTC) and NCR planning board to discuss various aspects of Delhi-Alwar RRTS Corridor and work out salient features of the corridor, said Vinay Kumar Singh, managing director, NCRTC.
The 180-kms long route from Kashmere Gate to Alwar will have total of 19 stations, of which, the first nine stations, including three in Gurgaon, will be underground. The stations will have multiple access points and will have platform screen doors for the safety of passengers, Singh said.
In Gurgaon, the stations at Cyber City, Iffco Chowk, and Kherki Daula will be underground, while those in Manesar and Panchgaon will be elevated. A main depot-cum-workshop has also been proposed at Panchgaon.

From official discussions, it emerged that the train will run at 160-km per hour and cover the distance up to Cyber City in 15 minutes, Manesar in 30 minutes and Rewari in 57 minutes. The travel time between Delhi-Alwar is planned at 104 minutes.
A large number of people travel from Delhi to Gurgaon and Rewari for work and the corridor is likely to provide a relief for them.
The total project, costing about ₹37,539 crore, is expected to be completed in about six years from the time the detailed project report is approved, said Singh. Officials from the Gurgaon administration were also present at the workshop.
