After widespread public outcry, the city traffic police have revoked its plan to make the Super Mart Crossing one-way.
The signboard saying — ‘No Left Turn’ and ‘No Straight’ — put up around two weeks ago has been modified. It now allows traffic to go straight but no left turn.
HT had first reported the inconvenience being faced by residents of DLF City and Richmond Park who have to take a four-kilometre detour to reach Galleria Market and DLF City Club, which are just a stone’s throw away.
The Richmond Park residents’ welfare association (RWA) had taken up the matter with the police.
“How can they deny us straight access to the Galleria Market or DLF City Club? We have to go via Park Plaza Crossing towards Iffco Chowk and then take a right to reach a place which is very close by,” said Sudhir Dar, a well-known cartoonist and a resident of Richmond Park.
