Govt pushing for ban on Hindu outfit Sanatan Sanstha, Maharashtra to submit fresh documents
The proposal was first floated after crude bombs were set off at various places in Maharashtra in 2008 and 2009.
In support of its proposal pending with the Centre for a ban on Hindu outfit Sanatan Sanstha, the Maharashtra government on Tuesday said it will submit fresh documents and evidence that comes out of interrogating Vaibhav Raut and others arrested by the Anti Terrorism Squad.
Minister of state for home, Deepak Kesarkar, said, “Investigating agencies have been interrogating Raut and others accused arrested in various cases. The interrogation is expected to reveal some more information related to the Sanstha. We will apprise the Centre...”
The proposal to ban the outfit was sent to the Centre in 2011. “...In 2013, the Centre raised fresh queries related to the status of the case filed by the Sanstha against the proposal and investigation into the pending cases. The department complied with all the queries in 2015...” said an official from the chief minister’s office.
The proposal was first floated after crude bombs were set off at various places in the state in 2008 and 2009.
