Haryana cabinet decisions: Rs 2,000 fine for blocking ambulance path

Haryana has revised the compounding fee for offences committed under the Motor Vehicles Act. Now, the fine for not providing smooth passage to an ambulance carrying a patient for first offence will be Rs 2,000, but fine for a subsequent offence will be Rs 5,000. Carrying goods on passenger vehicle for first offence will attract a fine of Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,000 for subsequent offence

The compounding fee fixed for driving a vehicle without high security registration plate would be Rs 500 for first offence and Rs 1,000 for subsequent offence.

The compounding fee for driver using vehicle without holding driving licence has been revised to Rs 1,000 for first offence and Rs 2,000 for second offence.

An under-age driver would attract a fine of Rs 1,000 for first offence and Rs 2,000 for subsequent offence. A vehicle carrying overload of up to 25% of the permissible load capacity would attract minimum fine of Rs 2,000 and an additional amount of Rs 1,000 per tonne of excess load, together with the liability to pay charges for offloading of excess load.
