Indian forces spot Pak UAV in Rajasthan, force it to retreat

Indian armed forces fired at a Pakistani unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) along the International Border in Rajasthan’s Sriganganagar district and forced it to retreat.

Senior defence sources said that the UAV attempted an intrusion near Satrana and Jagdev border outpost of Sriganganagar sector on Friday evening.

The Indian forces engaged the UAV with anti-aircraft guns after radars identified it.

Offcicials said the air defence systems and radars are on full alert to thwart any Pakistani intrusion attempts.

Since the Indian Air Force (strikes at a Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camp in Balakot on February 26, four Pakistani drones have been shot down near the International Border in Rajasthan.

A UAV was shot down by IAF Su-30 jets near Anupgarh, Rajasthan on March 4 and the second one which was also shot down had intruded into the Sri Ganganagar sector of Rajasthan on March 9. A day later on March 10 another Pakistani UAV was shot down in Sriganganagar.

Defence sources said that PAK is continuously sending its drones to probe the movements of Indian security forces as the major military deployments in Rajasthan are located around 80 km away from the border.
