Thank god it’s Black Friday!
Several Indian brands, from pet care to fashion and food, have hopped on the bandwagon, in the hope of seeing an uptick in sales
The most awaited day of the year for shopaholics, Black Friday, is almost here. The day, which falls on the Friday that follows Thanksgiving (November 25), denotes the commencement of the holiday shopping season, leading up to Christmas. It’s the biggest retail sales day that lasts for 24 hours, where shoppers get the best of discounts and deals. In line with this, several Indian brands, from pet care to fashion and food, have hopped on the bandwagon, in the hope of seeing an uptick in sales.
“Indian consumers and brands have embraced global trends like Black Friday. We hope this festive season helps build a positive consumer sentiment across industries,” says Samriddh Dasgupta, chief marketing officer at Heads Up For Tails, an online pet store.
Black Friday sale gives firms a chance to strengthen their hold in the market, says Dolly Kumar, co-founder and director, Cosmic Nutracos, a wellness brand.
With renewed enthusiasm among shoppers, brands hope sales go bigger and better. Tabby Bhatia, director of Brune & Bareskin, a luxury leather brand, says, “Black Friday sales are expected to see a 40% hike. After Covid-19, things are looking positive for marketers.”
“Black Friday is the biggest shopping period after the festive season. We have lots of exciting offers for customers. Along with a site-wide sale of upto 75% off, customers will get complimentary gifts with every order,” says Manasa Garemella, Co-Founder, kindlife.
Offers aren’t limited to retail alone. Manu Gulati, founder, strategist and master brewer, Effingut Breweries Pvt Ltd., says, “We have our Hoppy Hours offer on November 25, wherein guests can choose any two hours between Noon-7pm and relish our beers, ciders and meals for just ₹1,199.”
To welcome more patrons for the holiday season, Shangri-La Eros New Delhi is offering vouchers worth ₹5,000 and ₹10,000 for the forthcoming Black Friday, priced at ₹4,250 and ₹8,500, respectively. Meanwhile, Baskin Robbins is offering a flat 50% off site wide, on Black Friday.
