106-year-old exercises franchise
Rosakutty has always voted in all the polls, including the first election to the Kerala Assembly in 1957.
When many young voters shy away from polling booths, 106-year-old Rosakutty says she has never failed to exercise her right.
Rosakutty, who hit headlines as she started taking computer lessons at an e-learning centre at nearby Kothad despite her advanced age, on Saturday came to a booth in Kochi along with her grandson, Pushkin to cast her vote.
According to Rosakutty, she has always voted in all the polls, including the first election to the Kerala Assembly in 1957. She has also exercised her franchise in the election to the Travancore Cochin Legislative Assembly in 1951.
When asked if she was not confused by the electronic voting machine, her grandson said that he had taken special permission from the presiding officer to help his grandmother cast her vote.
