Twelve pilgrims have been killed in two seperate road accidents in Kerala and Tamil Nadu on Sunday, police said.

Six Ayyappa devotees from Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu were killed in the mishap near Erumeli in Kottayam District, while six persons from Kerala on their way to famous Christian pilgrim centre of Vailankanni died in a head-on collision involving their car and a bus at Tiruchirappalli.
