19 injured in ULFA blasts

At least nineteen persons were injured in serial bomb blasts by the outlawed ULFA in Assam's Udalguri district on the Indo-Bhutan border on Wednesday night.
A powerful bomb exploded near the Municipal office in Udalguri town around 9 pm wounding nine persons, official sources said.
In the same town another bomb was triggered by the ultras near the railway station around 8.30 pm but none was injured. The insurgent outfit triggered a third bomb in Mazbat of the district.
The police said a bomb concealed in a rickshaw went off at the Mazbat weekly market in Udalguri town when people were busy shopping at 7 pm.
At least ten persons including some traders were injured in the blast that took place near a oil filling station. Top police officers have rushed to the spot for investigation.
The ULFA exploded another bomb at an abandoned well in Sibsagar district but none were injured. The ULFA struck in Nalbari district also gunning down a surrendered ULFA (SULFA) at Tihu.
Meanwhile, the police arrested five hardcore ULFA militants from nearby Hajo township on Wednesday. Two grenades, other explosives and several documents related to the ULFA were recovered from them.
Yet another bomb exploded near the Udalguri railway station around 8.30 pm but none was injured, sources said. The ULFA struck in Nalbari district also gunning down a surrendered ULFA militant at Tihu during the day.
