All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AAKRSU) demands the government to creat a separate Kamtapur state.

Normal life was paralysed in Lower Assam on Monday following a 36 hour statewide bandh called by the All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AAKRSU) in demand for creating a separate Kamtapur state.
All business establishments, schools and colleges remained closed while vehicular traffic did not ply on the road. Several long-distance buses and trucks were stranded on National Highway 31, official sources said.
