44 structures damage due to landslide in JK

As many as 44 structures were today damaged in a landslide in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir today, officials said.

Heavy rains in the Dharam-Tharad area caused the landslide which destroyed 42 houses, one mosque and a government school, they said.

Confirming the incident, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Province, Pawan Kotwal told PTI that, "Several houses and structures have been damaged and developed cracks."

All people have been evacuated from the area and there were no reports of causality, Kotwal said.

A team of officials led by District Magistrate, Ramban had rushed to the spot.
