"In spite of partial thinning of some posts, the personnel on the ground are prepared and ready to take on any misadventure by the adversary. The chance of any infiltration is bleak because of the same weather conditions across the LoC," said the GoC.

Lt Gen Singh said army has evacuated 3,000 civilians and recovered 52 bodies in the Jammu division. He said the army personnel, including the Border Road Task Force are deployed in the entire flood-hit region of Thanamandi, Rajouri, Poonch, Akhnoor, Nawapachchi, Ramban and Banihal.

Medical aid posts and relief camps in Poonch, Rajouri, Thanamandi, Akhnoor and Ramban Nawapanchchi have also been given medical aid by the army team of doctors and nursing staff.

He said a special aircraft with 4,000 blankets and 1000 tents along with other relief material has flown from Kanpur and the relief material will be given to the civil administration.

The GoC said additional engineering equipment, machinery and trained work force is also been moved from other parts of country to J&K.

He said tents have been provided to 1,400 people and the same number of people is being kept in 10 temporary camps set up by the army.
