A cakewalk for BJP?
Claiming Panaji Lok Sabha seat to be `a walkover' for BJP, the CM said his party was confident of garnering at least a margin of one lakh votes.
Claiming Panaji Lok Sabha seat to be `a walkover' for BJP, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said his party was confident of garnering at least a margin of one lakh votes in the state's two seats.
"Panaji doesn't need much attention from our side as its almost like a walkover for Sripad Naik. Even at Marmugoa in South Goa, we have made a considerable dent in the Catholic community which will ensure us a margin of at least one lakh votes in each constituency," he told reporters here.
"All booth level meetings had been completed and the response had been very good", the chief minister said.
Accusing Congress of "manufacturing false reports" in the media, Parrikar said "all these media reports about the alleged good response to their campaign is just an attempt to create some `feel-good' for Congress."
Citing water, road and electricity as the main issues facing remote parts of Goa, Parrikar said there was a need to review existing schemes and bring out new measures.
